Greetings all, and welcome back to another MKDS news! It's Max here, bringing you an update imbued with the spirit of times passed, taking the form of the times scored in Week 3 of May 2026! The people have spoken, and the community is pretty clearly in favor of modifying the video proof standards to allow proof of live ghost/HD recordings for Top 20 times. The poll is currently 20-7 in favor of the change, but I do realize that without a forum account people can't view topics anymore (stupid AI bots!) I encourage you all to make a forum account, but you can also message myself or Quantum on Discord with any feedback or concerns. We are working on drafting the rules update, but sometime in the next few weeks we will post the updates and begin accepting times with live ghost/HD recording proof (including those that can be verified from Taiga/other players' saves.) With that out of the way, let's get right into the news! Inactivity New Players #688 Autumn Rummel joins from Virginia in the USA with a full set of times! Their best times so far are Expert ranks on DH, while the rest of their scores average out to an Intermediate B ARR. Welcome to the site! Activity #2 Cole Edwards is one step away from the top after 2 new times this week! He scored LM Non-SC 1'31"238/29"738 #5/3 for a 0.1094 AF cut in Non-PRB, which would be enough to put him #1 if he can do the same next week! It's been over 2 years since we had a new Non-PRB champion, surely he can see the finish line now! #20 Astrid Maruzensky set a seriously impressive improvement on rLC2 Non-PRB flap with 25"437 #4! She follows up her ascension week with that time and a 0.0313 AF cut, not passing anyone but certainly putting everyone on notice for more elite times to come! #53 SirLampsALot set 2 new times this week, picking out F8C Non-PRB 24"673 #50/Myth A and rBP 43"122 Myth E! Even though he called it a 3lap and not a 5lap, we still accepted his times! As a result, he was awarded a 0.8906 AF cut in Non-PRB, good enough to pass Etch and move up to USA #11! Top 10 US and Top 50 overall soon! #61 Joel Vermette pulled off 4 new times this time, sending in Non-PRB CCB 28"167 Myth E, AF 34"775 God, rKB2 43"096 Titan A, and rBB 35"684 Myth E! Those added up to a 0.9219 AF cut in Non-PRB, not quite enough to pass anyone this week but definitely Top 60 soon! #75 Dylan Rees took on 2 tracks and fired off 2 times this week with DS Non-SC 1'33"747 Titan C and SR Non-PRB 33"199 Myth E! Unfortunately, his 0.6718 AF cut wasn't enough to pass anybody this time, but he holds down the anchor spot of the top 75 that much more strongly. #87 Maple Tannhauser grabbed 3 new times with DKP 36"066 Titan C and rLC2 1'20"543/25"889 Titan D/Myth E! They earned a 0.8430 AF cut, passing 2 people in the congested lower top 100 and lining up to leapfrog former champ Michael Fried soon. #90 Oliwia Tachyon picked up a sweet pair of rLC1 Non-PRB scores with 1'13"080/23"949 #45/37 Gods! With those high ranks she accumulated a 0.6570 AF cut in Non-PRB, although she didn't quite pass anybody this time. #92 Shigu rounds out the top 100 with a trio of times, scoring Non-PRB rLC1 1'13"855/24"308 Myth D and rBB 35"392 God! Along with his 6th God he picked up a 1.6410 AF cut in Non-PRB, but that also wasn't quite enough to pass anybody this time. Players outside the top 100 included #143 Andreas Gkinis -1.3750, #144 Eighty -0.8120, #151 Xanthan G -13.2190, #556 AloneAlex -44.4540 Advanced D, and #842 DuckSGS -17.2970. Unranked Nothing here! New Records Not this time! Awards Nice cut to jump another 10 people and nearly reach the top 150, Xanthan G wins the POW for Week 3 of May 2026! That wraps things up for this week! Hello everyone, this is Quantum with the Week 2 news for May! This week we have a very special occasion... a GOD is born! Huge congratulations to Astrid for achieving this incredible milestone, and good luck on your future improvements! The Pantheon Idols #4 (-0.0156) Boreas begins our sermon with a small improvement on RCM, with a 1:45.639 for #8! #7 (-0.1406) Abel Marques finally got it done, passing fellow GOD Max Itzkowitz for #7 WW on NonPRB! The times that got him over the edge were RMC1 41.338/12.909 for #10 / #10, improving over his times submitted last week. Congratulations for this incredible achievement! #12 (-0.0469) Advaita Venkata decided to stop larping temporarily (to not be considered a false idol), driving RMC1 12.922 for #14 NonPRB, and going sub 1:31 on TTC with 1:30.888 for #14 and CR! Fortunately I immediately forgot where the A button is, allowing me to get the players page back on track! #20 (-0.6562) Astrid Maruzensky cemented her name on the MKDS pantheon this week! The final steps on the stairway to heaven were RLC2 1:17.988 / 25.474 for #20 / #6, and an epic finale on RR with 1:58.178/38.439 for #39/#23! It seems she may have been inspired by the first American to complete this feat, the aforementioned Max Itzkowitz, as RR was her final GOD. Regardless, congratulations again, very well deserved! #45 Axel Verplaetse (-2.2656) continues his destruction of the PRB category this week, driving RPC 53.573/17.498 for #88/#74, RLC1 1:12.748/23.847 #94/#83, and RDP1 55.016 for #93! With this he manages to get every PRB time inside the top 100, no small feat from the new Belgian GOD! #54 (-0.4687) SirLampsALot dropped a massive cut on TTC this week with a 1:33.180 for #41 and GOD! Every PR counts, and Lamp is marching forward towards the final frontier at a quick pace! #61 (-0.7500) Joel Vermette got to work on AF this week, getting 1:46.565/34.887 for #71 / #59, along with a DH flap for #65! No new GODs, but a very large AF cut to show for it, congratulations! #89 (-0.9850) Maple Tannhauser was busy witnessing the birth of a new GOD this week, but still managed to put up WP 39.971 for #85 and RLC2 26.044 #65! Just these two times resulted in almost a 1 AF cut, good enough to pass our next entry this week, great work! #90 (-0.2500) Oliwia Tachyon didn't quite manage to get there this week on RLC1, driving a 24.027 for #52. While she seemed disappointed this week, I have a feeling that this won't last too long... #92 (-2.5780) Shigu is on an absolute tear recently, and he shows no signs of stopping! This week he unloaded DH 1:12.299 for #39, RPC 17.974 for #58, RLC1 1:13.948 #74, and RBC2 1:34.933 for #96! Another new GOD this week on RPC, along with an incredibly fast DH 3lap indicates huge potential for the rest of his timesheet, great work and keep going! #94 (-2.6250) Nathan Hayter picked up the DS again this week, and got 3 new times! He went sub 25 on F8C with 24.991 for #118, and then went to work on WP with 2:02.543/40.261 for #108/#110! His efforts resulted in a huge 2.6 AF cut, well done! Hello everyone, this is Quantum with the week 1 news for May! As always we are behind but not to fear, the MKDS updating team has it under control... Before we get to the news though, I would like to extend my sincerest congratulations to MKDS GOD and fellow Balatro enthusiast Axel Verplaetse for winning Player of the Year 2025!! It was a very close race between him and Lamps, but Axel ended up taking it home. Of course, we should all congratulate all the other POY nominees, you guys are keeping this site alive! The Baron High Card knowers #2 (-0.0312) Cole Edwards made it happen this week with some world class PG times of 1:25.180/27.589 for #4/#5 WW, finally passing long time NonPRB champ Beta! Only 0.2 AF separates him from the legendary #1, and it seems that the final battle is coming soon! Congratulations, and good luck for the final climb! #8 (-0.1719) Abel Marques also passed a former world champ this week, overtaking the current Australian champion Ben Stoneman for #8 WW on NonPRB! The times that got it done were RMC1 12.938 for #17 and a masterclass RFS 1:37.353 for #5 WW! He is very close to passing American champion Max Itzkowitz, (un)fortunately showing why the UK is the #2 country on the players page :p #20 (+0.0000) Astrid Maruzensky is getting ready to stop looking at the ARR chart with an RLC2 1:18.171, just barely missing out on the 3lap GOD. Inside sources say that this won't last too long though... #46 (-3.0156) Axel Verplaetse showed that the Baron goes where the Baron wants this week, picking up some new PRB times of RSG 1:04.192/20.938 for #66 / #72 and RKB2 41.381/13.067 for #59 / #48! Naturally, a man of his status would not concern himself with such matters as ""losing speed"" to the offroad, and as such he is planning to finish his entire PRB sheet! No doubt a great start, and good luck with your future endeavors! #58 (-1.7500) Layton isn't taking no for an answer on DKP, dropping another huge cut of 1:48.229/35.166 for #48/#49! Still a lot of potential there but DKP is notoriously hard to finish runs on, best of luck if you keep playing! #62 (-0.9062) Joel Vermette keeps his momentum up this week, starting first with MC 1:33.033 / 29.984 for #77 / #68, and then moving over to the retros with RMB 1:12.260 for #92! Another huge cut this week, passing legendary American player Kmacc, and getting close to entering the top 50! #75 (-0.2500) Dylan Rees got a lot of great subs this week! He went under 33 on RFS with 32.966 for #105, under the 13.400 GOD barrier on RKB2 with 13.326, under the 1:20 and 26 barrier on RLC2 with 1:19.889/25.956 for #57 / #59, and just barely missed the 16 barrier on RCI2 with 16.067! Great efforts this week, and congratulations on all the new milestones! #90 (-0.1090) Oliwia Tachyon picked up a small improvement on YF with a 15.501 for #69, and a new PR on RLC1 with a 1:14.045 for #76 on NonPRB! He got it done on DH flap with 22.483 for #52, sniped RMC1 with 42.237/13.359 #67 / #72, and smashed the RFS flap god with a 32.542 for #64! Insane progress, and hopefully it isn't stopping any time soon! Idol copers #143 Eighty -0.0780, #172 Xanthan G -14.4210, #462 YouToo -26.3240, #939 DuckSGS -11.0200, and #983 Aimster925 -15.4100. It's been almost 20 years since we had a North American champ, could he be the next?? #9 Abel Marques set 1 new scores this week, grabbing rMC1 Non-PRB 12"972 #25 but unfortunately losing 1 spot of AF on the week to improvements elsewhere. #20 Astrid Maruzensky popped off this week with 3 more Gods to bring her to 62/64, scoring SR 1'39"893 #35, DKP 1'46"762 #32, and MC 1'30"781 #17, leaving her with only RR and rLC2 3laps to go for 0 ARR! Hello everyone, this is Quantum bringing you your news for Week 2 of April! Believe it or not, this news update is actually on time!??!!? In the interest of not wasting time, let's get straight into this week's news! Isengard's Champion! Istari #3 Cole Edwards was our highest active player this week, and he continued the insanity on RKB2 12.964 for #4 on NonPRB! This time is only 21ms from the WR, showing the true strength of the Istari! Only time will tell what happens next... #9 Abel Marques continues slashing his NonPRB AF with two very solid STD RB flaps, beginning with DS 28.916, and then going retro with RKB2 flap for 13.171! Abel is getting very close to passing former world champion Ben Stoneman and site updater Max Itzkowitz, good luck on your endeavors! #21 Astrid Maruzensky took a break from the God grind this week, but no doubt she will be back soon! As she rested from her fight against the balrog, she flexed her level on the STD RB with DS 29.291 and a crazy rPC 17.613 for #20 NonPRB! #35 Mikey Esposito strikes another blow against Durin’s bane this week with some new RFS times! He improved his 3lap from a mid 1:40 to 1:39:455, absolutely obliterating the God standard of 1:40.250. If that wasn’t enough, he also casually dropped a 32.362 flap, beating the God standard by almost 0.4! Congrats, and keep fighting MKDS soldier! #60 Layton used craft-lore gifted above from Aule himself on WS, driving a 1:54.719 on PRB for Titan C! Layton also used his own power on NonPRB, driving DKP 1:51.315 / 36.035 for Titan E/Titan C, WS 1:56.853 / 38.146 Myth C/Myth A, and RCM 1:51.879 for Titan D! Huge batch of times this week, and it seems that Layton has no signs of slowing down! #64 Joel Vermette also received Aule’s blessing this week on RMC1, driving a 40.595 / 13.282 on PRB for Titan E/Hero B! Once the blessing wore off, he still managed a super fast F8C 1:16.222 Titan C, and a new myth time with DS flap 29.805! Great times, and I hope that you will join Mikey and Astrid soon in their fight for NonPRB God! #84 Xanix ventured deep into depths of Khazad-Dum this week, playing his specialty of RLC2 NonPRB flap! This week he dropped a 25.923 for Titan A, a great time but unfortunately the balrog still stands strong... Of perhaps more importance than the times themselves was their impact on the charts, where arguably the most consistent times submitter in the game makes their Non-PRB top 100 debut with a big 3.5780 AF jump!
